Frequently Asked Questions About IT Management by Mica IT

Mica IT provides day-to-day management, security, and support for business IT environments. Depending on the terms of our agreement, we manage workstations, servers, networks, Microsoft 365, users, licenses, devices, backups, and security measures, among other things.

We support employees, implement changes, and provide advice on improvements. Tasks, responsibilities, response times, and exceptions are clearly defined in advance. Mica IT can serve as the entire IT department or handle a specific aspect of IT management.

Mica IT serves small and medium-sized businesses and other organizations with approximately 5 to 500 or more workstations, at one or more locations. Its services are suitable for both organizations without their own IT department and those that already have an in-house IT staff member or IT team.

Mica is particularly well-suited for organizations seeking clear accountability, professional security, personalized support, and predictable management agreements.

Yes. We'll start by taking inventory of devices, users, Microsoft 365, servers, networks, administrator rights, security, backups, contracts, and available documentation.

Next, we’ll draw up a handover plan with clear agreements regarding access, responsibilities, support, and the date on which Mica will take over management. Systems that are well-designed can usually remain in place. We’ll only migrate or replace components when it’s technically or organizationally necessary.

Yes. In joint management, we allocate responsibilities based on expertise, capacity, and organizational needs.

For example, the in-house colleague can focus on business applications, projects, and communicating with employees. Mica then handles monitoring, maintenance, Microsoft 365, security, specialized escalations, or coverage during absences. We define who is responsible for each system and task to ensure there are no gaps.

Yes. Mica IT can set up, migrate, manage, secure, and support Microsoft 365. This includes Exchange Online, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, users, licenses, permissions, and guest access.

With Microsoft Intune, we can centrally configure and secure laptops and mobile devices. Which features are available and appropriate depends, among other things, on your organization’s chosen Microsoft licenses, devices, risks, and operating procedures.

Depending on the agreed-upon services, employees can contact the Mica IT service desk directly. They can do so by phone, email, and the usual support channels.

We establish in advance what support is included, what the priorities are, and what response times apply. For mission-critical systems, separate arrangements can be made regarding availability and escalation outside of regular business hours.

Security becomes part of day-to-day management. Depending on the environment, this may include, for example, multi-factor authentication, access rights, administrator accounts, device management, updates, email security, monitoring, and backup and recovery procedures.

The measures are tailored to your organization’s data, risks, industry, licenses, and operating procedures. Mica IT’s management processes are ISO 27001:2022-certified. This does not mean that every risk is eliminated, but it does mean that information security is addressed in a structured and risk-based manner.

The costs depend on the number of users, workstations, locations, and servers; the complexity of the current environment; the desired level of support; and security and backup requirements.

Mica IT typically charges a fixed monthly fee for the agreed-upon services. In addition, one-time fees may apply for assessments, onboarding, migration, or improvement projects. After the assessment, you’ll receive a transparent proposal that lists management, support, licenses, exceptions, and any project costs separately.
